1.Preparation<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tA few rules must be observed even before laying<\/span>. The following steps will make the installation of the textile tiles easier for you and help you plan the laying.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t

1.1 Check for colour and batch identity<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tIf you want to equip several rooms or a large area with SCHATEX\u00ae<\/sup>-carpet tiles, please check the delivered goods for the same colour and batch, as there may be minimal colour<\/span> deviations during the production process.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tWith different production series, sort the carpet tiles so that you can equip your rooms with tiles of the same colour and batch. It is advisable to check the colour consistency even with smaller quantities, as complaints about inequalities can no longer be accepted after installation.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tAttention<\/u><\/span>: Slight colour deviations cannot always be avoided due to production reasons, even for goods with identical batch numbers. According to the rules of the trade, the colour consistency must be checked as part of a trial installation.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t

1.2 Acclimatization<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tIt is necessary to remove the carpet tiles from the packaging before laying and to store them flat at room temperature<\/span> for 24 hours. The material can acclimatise and adapt to the local conditions.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tThe minimum room temperature for acclimatization and laying of carpet tiles is 18\u00b0 C, the minimum temperature of the sub-floor 15\u00b0 C (with underfloor heating, the sub-floor temperature must be between 18\u00b0 C and 22\u00b0 C). The relative humidity must not exceed 65%.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tIn order to achieve a perfect and long-term robust result when laying the carpet tiles, the above values must be observed 3 days before and at least 7 days after laying.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

1.3 Underground<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tIn general, it applies to every surface that the floor must be hard, clean, dry and level<\/span>. Take special care that the floor is absolutely dry. If you have underfloor heating, please turn it off at least 48 hours before laying and note the maximum temperature given in the technical data sheet.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tSCHATEX\u00ae<\/sup>-Carpet tiles are not suitable for laying on soft floor coverings such as carpets.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tYou can find more about the preparation of the subsurface in our Installation Instructions<\/a>.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

2. Planning<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tBefore you start laying, carefully plan your<\/span> individual work steps. Please note the following planning steps in order to achieve the best possible result.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t

2.1 Tool<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tFor laying you need a tape measure, a ruler and a piece of chalk to define the starting point for laying<\/span> and to mark it, as well as a carpet knife with which the edge tiles are placed be tailored. It is also advisable to secure the carpet tiles that are to be laid in heavily frequented areas (e.g. corridors, door areas) and on the edge with solvent-free double-sided adhesive tape or an anti-slip fixation.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

2.2 Installation Orientation<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tThere are different methods <\/span> to lay carpet tiles from SCHATEX \u00ae<\/sup>. The type of laying determines the visual appearance<\/span> of the entire area and should therefore be carefully considered and planned in advance.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tThe classic installation method is called monolithic<\/em>. All tiles are laid in the same direction of the arrow – to be found on the back of the carpet tiles. Depending on the surface construction an almost seamless surface<\/span> is created, which resembles a continuous floor covering.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tAnother method is laying them in a checkerboard pattern<\/span>, also known as the quarter turn<\/em>. With this type of installation, the tiles must be turned a quarter turn so that the installation arrows never point in the same direction.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tPlease refer to the attached technical data sheet to find out which laying method can be used.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

2.3 Starting Point<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tFirst determine the centre of the room: Starting from the centre <\/span> of the length and width of the room, draw an orthogonal line on the surface with chalk. The intersection of the two straight lines marks the centre of the room, which serves as an approximate starting point for laying <\/span> the tiles. Now check how many whole tiles can be laid from the centre of the room to the walls. The edge tiles that have to be cut should not be smaller than half a tile.\n\t\t\t\t<\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tIt is also important to ensure that the opposite edge tiles should be the same size as possible. Offset the centre point so that the above conditions are met.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

3. Installation<\/h2>\n\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tNow lay the tiles starting from the specified starting point<\/span> (see 2.3) along the drawn chalk line so that two rows of tiles are created that intersect at right angles in the middle and a cross in the Space. The first tile should be placed in the right angle created by the orthogonally intersecting chalk lines and fixed with adhesive tape or anti-slip fixation. <\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tWhile laying, make sure that you lay the carpet tiles side to side<\/span> in order to ensure an optimal edge fit in all directions. Also check again and again whether the carpet tiles are arranged correctly. In the case of carpet tiles with a longer pile, it is also important to ensure that the fibres are not pinched between two tiles. <\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t\tThe edge tiles are cut with the help of the ruler and the carpet knife. To do this, the carpet tiles are turned on their backs and cut. Remember to also fix the edge tiles and the key tiles (tiles that are in heavily frequented parts of the room; e.g. in the door area or hallway). The cut edge is laid in the direction of the wall. There should now be four squares to be filled with carpet tiles. Start in the middle and lay pyramid-shaped and evenly towards the wall. <\/br><\/br>\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
